A method is described to redisplay a second level pop-up without having to first deselect it. Items in panels are highlighted once they have been selected. Selecting an already selected item will deselect it. When some items are selected from a panel, a second level pop-up is displayed for the user to enter more information. If the user wanted to redisplay the pop-up once it had been closed, he or she had to select the selected item, thus deselecting it, then select it again to display the pop-up. In accordance with the new method, a pop-up icon is placed to the right of panel items that display pop-ups. When the icon is selected, it will display the second level pop-up in a single step. In addition, it indicates to the user which items have second level pop-ups associated with them.
