An arrangement is described to assist an inexperienced typist in reaching the "shift" and "enter" keys on most keyboards. In this arrangement, the keyboard is provided with two jacks that accommodate input from foot pedals. The keyboard can be programmed so that operation of the foot pedal simulates the shift and enter keys, respectively, or some other function key, if desired.
