Pneumatic Semi-Automatic Thermal Paste Dispensing System for Ceramic Module Cap Applications

The disclosed pneumatic thermal paste dispensing system is based on the use of intermittent short air pressure pulses, or short intermittent mechanical pressure, directed to the surface of the encapsulated thermal paste in the reservoir. This scheme avoids the exertion of a constant pressure on the paste and thus eliminates the problem of unwanted oil separation. A special air pulsating [pneumatic control] box 2 is connected to a pressurized air line. The air pressure is monitored within x psi by the pressure regulator 5. Sequences of air pulses within split seconds can be activated via air cylinder piston 3, in turn generating a pressure on a piston in the paste reservoir 4. This pressure pulse is conveyed to the paste within the cylindrical cartridge (paste reservoir 4).
