Flanged Guard Accessory for Conveyor Roller

In a conveyor system, accessory flanges on the ends of the rollers prevent objects from falling off the side of the conveyor. They are easier and cheaper to install than conventional angle-iron guards bolted to the conveyor side rails. Fig. 1 shows accessory flange 10 with a central hexagonal hole 12 to match the studs 14 used to mount standard spring-loaded conveyor roller 20. To install, the studs 14 at each end of the roller 20 are inserted through hole 12 of two flanges 10. The roller is then installed with the flanges fitting snugly between the roller and the conveyor side rail. Fig. 2 shows that the accessory flanges 10 are behind side rail 25 and can provide continuous conveyor edge protection from one roller 20 to the next.
