This tester is a processor-driven cable test system which performs four separate tests on a cable without replugging into separate test connectors. The first test is a continuity test for opens, shorts and misswires. The second test is a ratio test for differentiation between coaxial cable signal lines and shields. The third test is a DC resistance test which performs a comparison of the DC resistance drop across a wire to a predetermined maximum resistance per foot (plus a tolerance) and an absolute resistance. The final test is an intermittent test to determine if there are any intermittent continuity connections. This cable tester uses both digital and analog voltage levels to detect correct positioning of wires in a cable.
