DIP Switch Setting Tool

Two techniques are described whereby DIP (Dual Inline Package) switches are properly set prior to shipment of a product. The first technique is a tool which provides four functional settings through the use of a rotating mechanism. The second technique allows the use of an unlimited number of head setting tools to be inserted for the setting of DIP switches. In the first technique, the rotating switch setting tool, as shown in Fig. 1, consists of handle 10 used to hold the tool during insertion onto the DIP switch. Mounted onto the handle 10 is the switch setter 11 which has the ability to rotate about axis 12 when secured with axis pin 13. The switch setter 11 has four positions which are selected by the test operator for a required function.
