Panel Locator Table

The previous locating method used a robot to pick up a panel, place it into the work station, remove it from the work station, and transfer it to a container. The panel had to be located prior to robot pickup by an additional mechanism, or by a two-position locating end effector on the robot, sacrificing both accuracy and speed. A panel locator table is provided to drop the panels at random, accurately move them into a work station, and relocate them a second time clear of the work station for an organized pickup. Location is achieved by dropping a panel 10 at random on table 11. Puck 12 swings in an arc with panel 10, first seeking front rail 13 and continuing on to locate against left rail 14, slipping on panel 10 air bearing to the end of the stroke.
