Abstract

A real-time multiple data editor provides integration of all data on a single page in relation to each other in dynamic editable form. The page may contain both text and non-text object sets including images, graphics, tables, annotations, and handwriting. Because of the multiple data format, there is a problem of providing a user with a vertical measurement of the physical page. Traditional word processors do not provide a method of displaying the vertical top and bottom margin positions and actual physical size of a page. Most word processors use a horizontal scale line which shows only the right and left margins plus tab settings. If the user wanted to determine top and bottom margins, the measurement is in terms of lines per inch and starting and ending line positions.
