A pulse generator simulates realistic radar signals to evaluate radar susceptibility in various products. The pulse generator (Fig. 1) is made up of two dual timers IC1, IC2 that are programmed from S1 through D1-D12 and R1-R12, to establish the characteristics of the radar being simulated. IC1 is used to generate the pulse width and pulse repetition rate (PRR) associated with each type of radar for which products are evaluated. IC2 is used to generate the signal necessary to simulate the antenna rotation and beam width. If S2 is in the continuous position, a stream of pulses are present at the output, having the basic characteristics of the radar signal.
