Optional Printing of Comment Data
Original Publication Date: 1985-Mar-01
Included in the Prior Art Database: 2005-Feb-18
In "*" an interactive text processing system is described which permits the operator to enter "comment" data into the text. As defined therein, comment data refers to any text data that the operator wants to include as a comment upon some identified text information. Comment data may be correction information, criticism, etc., and is normally hidden from view. In order to selectively print the comment data, the text processing editor program is modified to provide an attribute belonging to the comment which, if turned on, causes the editor to print the comment data in the vicinity of or overlaying the referenced text. The default condition is not to print the comment; e.g., the attribute is turned off. Reference [*] B. A. Barker, I. H. Hernandez and B. H.
