Unbreakable Hinge Mechanism for Plastic Cover

A hinge mechanism molded in a plastic cover of a box for a terminal unit is so formed that, when an excessive force is applied to the cover to open beyond its opening limit, the cover can be effectively disconnected from the box. This prevents the hinge from being broken by the excessive force. As shown in Fig. 1, the hinge portion of the top cover 1 comprises a pair of arms 2, each being provided with a small projection 3 formed in the hemisphere. Also, two ribs 4 are provided adjacent the arms 2. In the hinge portion of the box 5, a concave 6 for receiving the rib 4 and a hollow 7 having a width matching the breadth of the arms 2 are formed.
