Abstract

A real-time multiple data editor provides integration of all data on a single page in relation to each other in dynamic editable form. The page may contain both text and non-text object sets including images, graphics, tables, annotations and handwriting. Object sets may be moved into positions on a page such that more than one object set is occupying a single displayable area on the page. The editor supports footnoting as an advanced editing function. Currently, footnotes can only be created for a text object; however, there are occasions when a user will want to create a footnote for a table or graphic object. For example, there may be data in a table cell for which the user wants to provide a footnote reference or a particular graphic object requires a footnote reference to explain its origin.
