A laser image generator 1 is utilized to expose print band images on photoresist by means of computer data to create a desired pattern. The pattern is created using a raster scanning technique. A laser spot 2 of .001 inch diameter is focused on a work piece 3 and relative movement of the work piece 3 with respect to the laser spot in an X-Y direction is established. As the spot moves, it is turned on and off as commanded by the digital data, according to the desired pattern. The pattern size is determined by the hardware that is used. Each spot is either filled in or left blank according to the pattern required.
