Abstract

A real-time multiple data editor provides integration of all data on a single page in relation to each other in dynamic editable form. The page may contain both text and non-text object sets including images, graphics, tables, annotations and handwriting. Object sets may be moved into positions on a page such that more than one object set is occupying a single displayable area on the page. A command bar is displayed at the top of the screen. Within the command bar are the names of the commands that the user can use in creating and editing the document. There is a problem in the multiple data editor due to the fact that not all commands are valid for all of the objects in the document. This can lead to some confusion by the user in selecting valid commands for the object she/he is creating or editing.
