A real-time multiple data editor provides integration of all data on a single page in relation to each other in dynamic editable form. The page may contain both text and non-text object sets including images, graphics, tables, annotations and handwriting. Object sets may be moved into positions on a page such that more than one object set is occupying a single displayable area on the page. Thus, text, a pie chart and a table, for example, may all occupy a single page, and the editor allows the user to edit each of these data types. There is a particular problem in editing freeform graphics in that the functions that the user is required to perform usually involve erasing a portion of the previously drawn graphic object and then redrawing it.
