The cable connector retainer assembly described in this article offers a reliable and economical means of eliminating potential open-circuits arising in the panel interface between a wafer-testing machine and a controlling computer during the process of connecting or relocating mating coaxial cables between the two units. The connector retainer assembly 1 shown in Fig. 1 is composed of three pieces: the rubber O-ring 2, the retaining ring 3, and the retainer 4. As shown in Fig. 2, the male connector 5 is inserted into the three-piece retainer assembly 1, the rubber O-ring 2 being secured against the connector flange by the retaining ring 3, which is sprung into the groove shown in the retainer 4.
