Abstract

A strontium ferrite article to be plated with copper is subjected to the following steps: 1. remove grease and oil ultrasonically in a bath containing a chlorinated hydrocarbon; 2. condition in a hot alkaline cleaner containing a chelating agent and wash; 3. pass through a 33% hydrochloric acid etch directly into a tin/ palladium catalyst and rinse; 4. treat with a copper deposition accelerator and rinse again; 5. electrolessly coat in a formaldehyde copper solution; and 6. electrolytically deposit a copper layer in a bright pyrophosphate copper plating solution.
