Abstract

The article describes a multiplexer card for interfacing between diskette drive adapter cards and a testing system. The card being tested is designed to control up to four drives. Selecting, writing and reading four different drives is too much test time. Also, there is more equipment than necessary when considering four drives mounted in a special package which must also contain power supplies to run the drive logic. The interface multiplexer card arrangement disclosed herein permits one diskette drive to be used to test all four ports of the diskette adapter card, thereby reducing test times and the amount of hardware required. The diskette adapter card user test (CUT) must be tested for its capability of controlling four diskette drives. These four drives are designated drive 1, drive 2, drive 3 and drive 4.
