This article describes a software application program called the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Projection, designed to help a banker, accountant, insurance agent, financial consultant, and the like, to market IRAs by providing prospective customers with personal IRA projections in a matter of minutes. As the user asks customers some basic questions about the amount of money they intend to contribute to the IRA each year, their tax bracket before retirement, and how they want the funds in the IRA distributed, the information is keyed into a personal computer (PC). The projection is calculated, and the customer may either view it on the PC or have it printed as a report by pressing a function key. The reports are all personalized statements suitable for presentation to a prospective IRA customer.
