The drawing shows a hand-held plug-in random-access memory (RAM) cartridge. Top cover 1 and bottom cover 3 suspend circuit board 5 within the cartridge. One end of board 5 has electrical contact strips 7. That end faces the side of the cartridge in which sliding closure barrier 9 with elongated opening 11 is held in place by an interlock on bottom cover 3 until released by a tongue 13 on the plug 14 on which the cartridge is mounted. Opening 11 is coextensive in size and positioned with the part of board 5 having strips 7. A single bow spring 15 is positioned between ridge 17 in bottom cover 3 and barrier 9. An internally bowed slot 21 (top view inset) receives spring 15 to more positively position it. Spring 15 forces barrier 9 outward until its edges contact mating inner edges of covers 1 and 3.
