Abstract

This article describes a new process which provides the capability of burn-in of different part numbers, accurate burn-in data tracking and control, and off-line load/unload of cards to be burned-in. The new technique is illustrated above. Cards to be burned-in are brought into the removable cards carrier 1 at the load station. The operator wands the serial number, part number and card slot in the carrier into a personal computer (PC) 2. The PC transmits this information to an IBM Series/1 processor 3 which constitutes the main control of the system. This process continues until the whole carrier is filled with cards. Then the PC reads the carrier ID number and transmits to the processor, thus linking the carrier to a particular card part number.
