One or more standardized, movable air interlock modules are interposed between an enclosed work station containing cleansed air and an area having uncleansed factory air to constitute a generic work station suitable for use by either a human or robot. As illustrated in Fig. 1, four air interlock modules 1 comprise a rectangular enclosure having four normally closed doors 2 that are movable to provide access to respective platforms 3. These platforms are provided with openings to allow cleansed air under slight pressure to be forced downwardly to minimize contamination within the module. Aligned with doors 2 are similar normally closed exit doors 4.
