Abstract

A four-wide three-high (4W3H) card nest precision locates a card for solder paste screening. The card can be screened with or without a connector and with a variety of different-size components already soldered on one side of a dual-sided card. The nest 1 is formed from four support rails 2, 3, 4, and 5 that are mounted to an aluminum plate 6 that is attached to the solder paste screener tool 7. The card 8 locates on a fixed-side card support rail 2 and a fixed-end card support locator rail 3 that precisely locate the card on two sides horizontally. The third side 4 supports the card in the vertical direction only. The fourth side 5 is a movable jaw which supports the card in the vertical and horizontal directions. This fourth side 5 is spring loaded (9) and locks the card 8 into the precision locator nest 1.
