Abstract

In a cash-issuing machine a Gravity-Bin Escrow is provided with pinch rollers and a rotatable issue/reject gate. Documents in escrow are either issued or rejected. Unclaimed issue documents are retrieved and rejected. Referring to Fig. 1, a group of documents (currency) is fed serially, from above, into escrow bin 80, formed by upper bin plate 10 and lower bin plate 15. Impelled by gravity and inertia, guided by plates 10 and 15, the documents move downwards, strike rotating document stop 20, and come to rest. After the required number of documents has accumulated in escrow bin 80, a receipt, introduced into receipt entry slot 30, is fed into the escrow bin, under the accumulated documents, by receipt drive roller 35.
