Safe Personal Computer Mount Battery Housing

This article describes a housing for mounting a battery on a Personal Computer (PC) which is safe and prevents inserting a battery in reverse polarity. The housing structure prevents operator exposure to battery venting. The housing structure is shown in the exploded perspective view of Fig. 1 with a battery 1 positioned for insertion in the housing 2 which has end members 3 and 4. End member 3 is provided with a well 5 which has a positive contact 6 recessed into it below the surface. The housing 2 has a cylindrical opening 7 into which the battery 1 is inserted.
