An arrangement is described for providing multiple independent Disassembly Windows (DWs) for a full screen Debug Facility (DF) similar to the DF described in detail in the Disk Operating System Manual (6881423) Section 6, for the IBM Personal Computer (PC). The DF includes several different commands which permit a program to be debugged. One technique employed in debugging is to view on the screen a series of instructions that are stored in memory and to view the actual data. Different debug commands allow the data to be displayed in different ways. One useful command functions to disassemble or unassemble an assembly language instruction into machine language instructions which permits a detailed analysis of what steps are being performed by the microprocessor.
