An arrangement is described for use with the Debug Facility (DF) that is described in the preceding article in which each of the multiple Disassembly Windows (DWs) is scrolled independently. This is accomplished by the operator moving the cursor to anywhere in the DW and pressing one or two predetermined keys. The DF knows at all times where the cursor is positioned and is capable of determining the boundaries of the DW it is in. The DF contains the logic required to modify only the DW variables affected by the scroll operation. After the appropriate variables have been modified, the DF constructs the DW based on these new variable values. This occurs independently of any other DWs being displayed simultaneously, which remain unchanged during the scroll operation.
