An arrangement is described for use with the Debug Facility (DF) that is described on page 167 which permits the operator to dynamically create a new Disassembly Window (DW) by issuing a command which specifies a new Code Segment (CS) and Instruction Pointer (IP) variable values for a disassembled instruction which is displayed in the DW. The operator specifies the line which is to become the start of a new DW, and specifies new CS and IP values for the specified line. The command causes the line specified to become the start of a DW and not only affects this line but also every other disassembly line up to the next line which begins a DW. The DF constructs the new DW based on the new DW start CS and IP variable values and the calculated values for all other CS and IP variable values in the new DW.
