An arrangement is described for use with the Debug Facility (DF) that is described on page 167 which permits the operator to dynamically create a new Disassembly Window (DW) by overtyping the Location Counter (LC) value for a DW line which is being displayed based on a set Code Origin value and a calculated LC value. Creating a new DW merely by overtyping the displayed LC value for the DW line. This is accomplished by the operator moving the cursor to the displayed LC value which is to become the start of the new DW and overtyping the value with the new LC value for the line. The DF knows when the cursor has been to a displayed LC value and after each hex digit is entered uses the modified LC value to calculate and modify the IP value for the line involved.
