Abstract

An arrangement is described to scroll the Instruction Trace Buffer (ITB) of the Debug Facility (DF) described on the page 167 for either of the two-trace buffer display formats described on the preceding page. The scrolling is accomplished by the operator moving the cursor to the trace window area and pressing one or two predetermined keys. The DF knows which of the two formats is being displayed and performs the complex operations to scroll the ITB. The operator may also print a portion of the ITB by issuing a print command which specifies the portion of the ITB to print and the format to print in. Without this command the operator can only print a screen to get a copy of a portion of the ITB. The print trace function allows any or all of the ITB to be printed with one command.
