Process to Produce a Separable Laminate

In the manufacture of printed circuit boards, or the like, it is desirable to laminate a stack of cores into a composite for certain operations and then separate the composite for subsequent operations. A design utilizing fluorocarbon film for separating the cores of a laminate is constructed in the following manner. Epoxy-glass cores are produced with fluorocarbon release sheets on the external surfaces. The fluorocarbon release sheets are removed after lamination, and then prepreg is laminated to this core. The fluorocarbon modifies the surface of the epoxy-glass cores so that the separation of the subsequent layer is promoted and the individual cores can then be processed.
