Single-sided AC plasma display panels are known in the art and described in the literature. Such a panel using asymmetric spacing of cells can provide either a limited gray scale or multicolor capability when appropriate phosphors are located on the viewing plate above the cells. For human factors consideration, however, the density of cells along one axis may be significantly greater than along the other axis, whereby the associated colors or gray shades are grouped together and approximated as a group in one direction. The problem in such arrays is to prevent cross-talk between selected and non-selected cells.
