Control of Document Scanning to Preserve Visible Snapshot
Original Publication Date: 1985-Jul-01

When reading the text of an electronic-media document with the document scanning arrangement described page 513, the reader needs to be able to take a snapshot of part of the display and keep it visible while continuing to read through the document. This function is needed when there are figures and examples in the text. When figures are encountered, the system is arranged so the operator may selectively indicate to the system which portion of the displayed information is to be kept visible on the screen as the rest of the document is scanned.
