Some real-time multiple processing systems provide a workspace edit option for editing objects/object sets whose data is larger than the display space of the object/object set. The display space is the space on the physical screen allocated for viewing and editing the data contained in the object or object set. The workspace edit option allows data in the display space to be viewed full screen. A method is described to allow the operator to define the view of the data to be displayed when the operator returns to normal edit mode. By default the editor defines the view of the data to be the portion of the object/object sets which was last visible within the display space before the workspace edit option was invoked.
