The resource group authorization system is a control mechanism for controlling computer resource access, implemented at the architecture level. It uses the concept of Resource Groups (RGs). An RG is a named collection of resources available to the computer system having a common set of authorization attributes. These authorization attributes can include such things as (a) the actions that may be taken against the group (e.g., write, read, print) and access authorization for a particular user or class of user. The application of the control mechanism allots computer system resources in such groups.
