Suspension System for Delicate Instruments

This article describes a suspension technique for packaging delicate instruments, such as electrical devices requiring fragility restrictions, which is inexpensive and adaptable to different sizes and weights. The technique disclosed herein provides a unique method to package equipment enclosed in a total suspension system to avoid any damage to delicate instruments such as personal computers, printers, displays and electronic instrumentation. Referring to Fig. 1, a single suspension system unit is shown. A tripodic support 1 is made of wire or any other material to support spherical balls 2. The spherical balls are of resilient material, such as rubber, whose hardness is calculable by durometer.
