Abstract

A stainless steel cleaning fixture that can secure caps, substrates or module assemblies is used in cleaning operations employing a variety of chemicals. The fixture design is such that chemical "drag-out," or friction that can cause sparks, is minimal for safety purposes. The mechanism works as follows: To remove flux from a substrate, locate the substrate (not shown) over opening 1 and turn the flipper handle 2 to move the flipper 3 over the substrate tabs (not shown) to secure the product. Use the flipper to secure both sides of the product. For removing pin lubrication and removing thermal paste, the procedure is the same. For cleaning caps, locate the cap assembly heatsink (not shown), topdown, over the opening 1. Then activate the spring-loader grippers 4 to secure the cap.
