Abstract

This disclosure describes the design of a special feature for the thermal conduction module (TCM) that both aligns and holds in position the C-ring-type interface gasket that is required to maintain a hermetic seal in the TCM. This new design results in a significant improvement in the manufacturing process control and assures that the proper seal location is maintained for the life of the module. The containment-positioner is designed so that the C-ring will always be positioned on the proper substrate sealing area. This is accomplished by having the positioner overhang the substrate, as shown in the figure. The positioner will properly align the C-Ring at assembly without requiring any special tooling.
