Transducer Arm Level Test Fixture

The fixture of Fig. 1 has been designed and adapted for use as a colinearity tester. The fixture is designed for ease of use while being able to repeatedly position an arm level head assembly in the tester. The head/arm assembly 5 is placed in the fixture, as shown in Fig. 1, and the clamp 6 and pressure foot 7 are lowered together. The arm is held secure by pressure foot 7 with a force supplied by the compression spring 8. The compression spring 8 is located between the clamp 6 and pressure foot 7. As it is lowered further, the clamp makes contact with the suspension 12, and the head 13 comes into contact with the optical flat 9. The clamp 6 is held in the proper position by a lock 10 which is moved into position after clamp 6 is lowered.
