A carrier 1, movably guided on two rods 2 and 3, supports a drive motor 4 powered through a cable loop (not shown). Motor shaft 5 is provided with helical grooves. An endless rope or belt 6, wound around one turn each of the grooves, is guided on either side of the frame on friction rollers 7 and 8. Rope or belt 6 has its other strand guided by forked stops 9 and is kept tensioned by a tension spring 10. As the motor shaft revolves, carrier 1 is pulled by the rope loop along rods 2 and 3 in one or the other direction. As the rope loop moves in the grooves on motor shaft 5 in an axial direction, rollers 7 and 8 are suitably staggered in the frame.
