Abstract

A technique is described whereby a container support unit automatically maintains a constant level of diskettes so as to enable a processing machine to pick-and-place diskettes during the diskette fabrication process. The container support unit enables containers to be cycled into and out of pick-and-place machines by elevating diskettes inside the container to the required level. The container support unit, as shown in the figure, is designed to easily enable the operator to place container 10, which contains a supply of diskettes, into the input station of the pick-and-place processing machine. Elevator 11, of the container support unit, raises the supply of diskettes 12 until a sensor located in hopper 13 is actuated. At this time, a pick-up head removes one part at a time from the hopper.
