A magnetic head suspension is shown in which a ramp plate is produced to establish the correct angle of the suspension relative to the head arm. The suspension 1 comprises a ramp plate 2 which is formed with mounting holes and an integral bend at a closely controlled angle relative to the head arm 3. A load beam 4 is fixed, by welding, for example, to the ramp plate 2. The load beam 4 positions a magnetic head slider 5 in transducing position relative to a magnetic disk 6, as is known in the art. The ramp plate 2 is fixed to the head arm 3 by suitable fasteners 7.
