Abstract

This article describes a method by which users of a manufacturing, accounting and production information control program may search for a customer number or item number by the name or description field. This allows the user to quickly check on the correct customer number or item number when entering or maintaining orders. During Order Entry the user may need to know a customer's correct number, e.g., because of a misprint on the order form and the customer master list not being readily available. The user can key in the customer's name or partial name and obtain a display showing a list of customers that meet the search argument entered. The user then chooses the correct customer number which is automatically placed in the order which is being processed.
