Water Connection for Cold Plate for Thermal Conduction Module

The drawing shows a section of a cold plate 2 where a water-carrying tube 3 is attached. The water passage 5 in the cold plate communicates with an opening 6 that has threads 7. Tube 3 has a flare 8 at the end and carries a nut 9 that is screwed into opening 6. A groove 10 at the bottom of opening 6 carries a circular sealing ring 12. When the cold plate is manufactured and before the tube 3 is attached, a plastic cap (not shown) is inserted in opening 6 for protection. The circular sealing ring 12 can be inserted in the manufacture of the cold plate or later when the tube is connected.
