Abstract

The present feature pertains to an adapter which provides for security and usability features independent of system software for a personal computer workstation. The present feature provides a keyboard keylock which is independent of system software for inhibiting a user from affecting system operation through either the keyboard or locator (e.g., mouse) devices and, in addition, provides a user with a non- programmable keystroke sequence logic for initiating a hardware system reset and also a programmable keystroke sequence logic for initiating a high level system interrupt. The hardware system reset is initiated independent of the state of the system software or the system interrupt vectoring.
