A method is described for a user to add multiple lines of data to an entry in an alphabetized list without disturbing the collating sequence of the list. A format to allow the user to enter multiple lines of information for an individual entry is shown below. By leaving the first character of a line blank, it is considered to be a continuation of the previous line, thus not affecting the collating sequence of the list. The number of continuation lines per entry is unrestricted. Example of an ordered list: Brown, John 224-9874 1000 Maple Leaf Dr. Davis, Linda 340-9523 2456 Avenue C Harris, Jim 254-3085 9870 Main St. Simmons, Al 897-1123 3421 Forest Ln. Vickers, Sam 446-8734 8745 Baker St. Previous list with the addition of continuation lines: Brown, John 224-9874 1000 Maple Leaf Dr.
