Current program development creates an initial program specifica- tions which is used as a guideline for programming. The resulting program is at best an approximation of the program specifications. In the course of program maintenance, the code is increasingly changed from the specifications to the point that often new specifications must be created from the current program code. To avoid this problem, it has previously been proposed to input the specifications for processing to generate the program code. This procedure insures that the audited specifications are the program specifications.
