Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.

Fabrication Process for Crown Sliders
A crowned shape for a magnetic head slider can be produced by a vapor
phase deposition technique.
In order to accomplish the crowned configuration, the slider 1 is placed in a
fixture 2 within a plasma chamber. With this process, the height of the crown 3
can be controlled by varying the height of the walls 4 in the fixture 2.
A wide variety of materials can be deposited in this manner in order to vary
the properties of the crown. In one specific example, plasma polymerized
trifluoropropylmethyldimethoxysilane was employed. This material is adherent to
metal and oxides, is fairly abrasion resistant, and is not dissolved or etched away
by water or common solvents.
