Abstract

An enclosure for a data processor has two parts: a lower part that holds the power supplies and the coolant distribution unit and an upper part for the storage and logic components. The lower enclosure part rests on the true floor of a data processing room with the usual raised floor built around the lower enclosure at the usual level. Wiring and chilled water are routed under the raised floor as usual and enter through the side of the lower enclosure. The power supplies and the coolant distribution components are provided in a maximum configuration for a given enclosure size, and the logic and storage components are provided in the desired configuration for each customer.
