Abstract

A collection of devices is used to write, label and package diskettes. The device(s) operations are computer controlled. Among the devices are a robot and two matrix printers used to print and apply the label to the diskette. In one prior approach, the label (FIG.3)is taken from the printer by a swing arm mechanism and moves through a 180 degree arc presenting the label upside down to the robot. The robot holds the diskette also upside down while the label is applied causing inadequate support by the robot gripper (FIG.1). This results in unsatisfactory labeling (corners peeling).
